Hey, this KDEmod thing isn’t half bad

Edit: Unfortunately, the images originally included in this post are gone, because of hosting problems in late 2009. My apologies.

It’s pretty. It’s convenient, has a lot of functional tools already in place and is easy to customize.

It moves pretty fast. It’s not as quick as my Openbox desktop, but it’s no sluggard either. It has a few quirks, like weird font defaults (ttf-ms-font?!) and I seem to have two scroll bars in Konqueror. But other than that, it’s kind of nice.

I might have to look into this KDE thing a little more. I wonder what a default Kubuntu setup looks like these days. …

You probably won’t like Kubuntu’s default if you’re into Openbox… That really does look nice though. I’m going to have to try Arch soon too, just to try KDEmod. (Couldn’t get X running properly on my other PC, though…)

Kubuntu is much more bloated and doesn’t look near that smooth. =\
