I can’t seem to figure out quite WHY but just about any operation dealing with the playlist seems to freeze BPD for me. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Thanks for that. I like that it allows for automation across an entire collection, but also that it’s got it’s own mpd-like player that you can use with mpd clients. BPD (presumably Beets Player Daemon) ties more tightly to the ID3 information in the tracks, which I like compared to the MPD way of handling things based on the folder.

I’ll try it out for a while and maybe report back :)

For now I’m using Picard, but the automation potential in Beets looks great and I might use it as soon as it provides some more flexibility in naming schemes.
