Since Crux doesn’t include those by default (or start them automatically unless you tell it to), you need the evdev driver and those two programs to make the mouse and keyboard work.

It’s another one of those “features” disguised as “bugs.” I hate those.

Check this for a quick solution. Or quicker than compiling those two, anyway.

Jay512 and I over at linuxforums are getting our tails whipped with xorg. Unlike 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4, running startx or /etc/rc.d/xdm start causes a hard and deep freeze of mouse and keyboard necessitating a box kill and reboot. Ctrl – Alt – Backspace has no effect. Did you run into this at all? I’ve been wrestling with this for two days now, seeking and trying solutions from all over the net. Any help or insight you might provide would be very welcomed! Thanks!
