It does. It's easy to see how Arch and Crux are related, but there's far more involved in setting up Crux over Arch. To be honest, the best information on setting it up is in the Crux handbook.

<a href="http://crux.nu/Main/Handbook2-4" / rel="nofollow">http://crux.nu/Main/Handbook2-4</a>

And honestly, if you can tackle Arch, you can handle Crux. It'll just take a little more time, really.

I was thinking about setting up Crux on my old Compaq junker. It sounds like it would be a good match. Any suggestions or tips?

It seems that Crux is one of those distros that take a lot of work and tweaking during installation.

No, I didn't, not yet anyway. I would like to start over with this system before offering any suggestions either, because I stumbled through this one without really doing a very good job of making sure things were cleanly and efficiently built.

After the next round, I promise a better explanation. Please watch this space. :D

I was wondering if you wrote an article about your Crux setup on this machine?

The specs are very similar to the one of my IBM 240x, on which I am currently running Fluxbuntu. 16sec. to boot seems incredible!
