Be prepared to tinker with it a little, to get it how you want. But when you're finished it will be a very classy machine. I am trying to convince the wife to convert, the idea of java, flash, real player, etc included really appeals to me. I currently am running a debian system on a 500mhz,312mb and a 7gb hard drive which seems faster and better than our 900mhz,512mb laptop system. Linux Mint also fits on bootable USB flash drives. I haven't made mine persistent, but it's been very very handy as is and I've taken to leaving it in the car. The boot time isn't too bad and it's great having fully featured internet work on a computer that otherwise isn't working. It doesn’t just fit-on-cd.
