It is based on Ubuntu 7.04 – so far various frame buffer issues have stopped me from making a newer version. The main difference from “Miniubuntu” is that this has quite a few apps added, including for example music players, a file sharing system with sshfs, and lots of other bits. It is designed mainly as an intro to the command line, and has tutorials.

There are menus from which you can navigate, and it comes in colour

We are working on a simple installer – so far the installer is working in a virtual machine ( for example VBox or qemu). For more information, mail me at the email address given on the home page.

I liked it too, really. I was considering using something like ISOMaster to manhandle it and further customize it to my liking, but aside from cutting quiet splash off the boot line, I think it’s already perfect.

That cd was awesome, only I couldn’t get UCK or reconstructor to add packages to it … but oh well.

Yes, that will happen. It’s unfortunate, but what can be done? People either don’t read the whole thread or misunderstand the advice that was given. It’s just our nature as humans. I’ve gotten used to it.

That forum thread is one of the best examples for the frustration of user support. You replied with a solution, then a few comments later someone else also replies, as though you hadn’t, and on top of that another user says he found that blind idiot’s reply helpful, obviously suffering from the same eye disease.
