I was waiting a bit before ansering to your post. First thanks!

Then… next cooking release will have full sound support with mixer and player, Kernel with some PCMCIA support unlike xircom_cb, and bug fix for GRUB (permissions was not set correctly) and other packages.

All this in a 22.5 Mb ISO…

I’m going to try Slitaz.
I can’t agree with Onyros on DSL 4.0. It’s closer to puppy now in that is also uses JVWM. Flux is an option to boot into, but JVWM now seems to be the default. I think many people don’t like any desktop that reminds them of Windows98, or worse, WindowsME (shivering in fear at the memory of ME).

I take it that since you mention PCMCIA, you booted Slitaz on a laptop?

Have you tried DSL’s v4.0? Man, talk about regression…

If one thought DSL was ugly as it was, they just made it worse, and DWM doesn’t help one bit.

They changed from using a few icons on the desktop, to having a document centric desktop.

In my view, that’s a shoot in the foot. A terrible, terrible one.

Thanks for the heads regarding Slitaz, I was intrigued before, but you’ve just spiked my interest in it a notch.
