Feisty kills my network

Post-Herd 2 Ubuntu invariably kills my network connection. I’m using an ancient Linksys WPC11 v3 card, which (if I recall correctly) uses the Orinoco/Prism2 chipset. By all accounts, it should be fine; that’s been around so long I can hardly imagine the chipset being the issue.

Unless it’s not, and something like pcmciautils is the culprit, or the 2.6.20 kernel. If I reboot to the old Edgy kernel I get UUID errors, so I don’t know if there’s really a way around the issue. I seem to run into new problems when I try to avoid old ones.

I’ll just have to wait for the Herd to mature a little more. Maybe I’ll check on the forums.
