Kiwi has come up with an idea for solving the Backyard issue; he describes it here better than I care to paraphrase.
Personally, I’m not keen on it. It’s a duplication of efforts to rebuild the forums and split off an entire “fun” forum that has little or nothing to do with Ubuntu, or Linux or computers on the whole.
Off-topic discussion is something that should be done … off-site.
