EU streaming service for all

Another petition is underway. This time it’s the “Streaming service of the Council fo the European Union.” As I understand it, you can only listen in to live transmissions of the council or other public events, if you’re sitting on a Windows box, or a Mac.

Ooh, that just makes me want to be European, just so I can sign that one. And what knucklehead signed on to use a proprietary format underwritten by a company that already faces EU fines — and last I heard, refused to pay them?

News item here. Petition here. Discussion here.

(And by all means, feel free to set me straight if I’m off the mark on this. I have been known to be reactionary in the past. )
