In every corporate environment I've worked in, I'm constantly surprised at how many windows folks feel compelled to keep open at one time. As the number of windows increases, productivity decreases, because the user gets stretched too thin. I've visited with folks to discuss some project at their desk, and it always irritates me that they have to fumble for minutes through various windows trying to find what we're talking about, trying to find the last window we were just on, etc. I've gotten to the point where before I speak with someone at their desk, I first tell them to save and close down everything. I sometimes think multi-tasking is a bad idea, especially on "lite" e-machine equivilents at corporations, because they use them like their uber home computers, then complain when it's slow, runs out of memory, and they can't keep their ADHD attention focused on one project at a time. Folks leaving their damn email open so it constantly pops up to interrupt a conversation is another huge pet-peeve.
